Verona, February 4, 2025. As part of the Upskilling for Wellbeing in a Multicultural Classroom project meetings, the presentation of the main objectives of the SICAPERMA project took place, which aims to develop strategies and tools for the recycling of permanent magnets based on Nd-Fe-B technology.
The event, held in the city of Verona, brought together experts in material technology, representatives from academic institutions, international organizations, and members of the scientific community to share experiences and establish synergies. In total, about 30 representatives from five different countries—Croatia, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Cyprus—participated.
The presentation was conducted by the coordinator of the SICAPERMA project, who highlighted impact of the project. In this respect, one of the key objectives of the project is the construction of 21 production plants in Europe before 2050, which will significantly reduce the carbon footprint and dependence on external suppliers.
During the event, it was highlighted that Sicaperma could reduce CO2 emissions by 95 tons and generate around 5,900 direct jobs over the next 25 years. "We are witnessing an ambitious initiative that marks a turning point in sustainable innovation in Europe," stated the project coordinator, who highlighted Sicaperma's role in job creation and in strengthening Europe's industrial capabilities. With a budget exceeding 6.2 million euros and the participation of 14 partners from 7 European countries, the project is positioned as a key tool for combining economic growth and environmental sustainability.
